Green Tea
Description of Green Tea
Green tea is tea that is obtained without fermentation (enzymatic oxidation), so during the processing of green tea, the leaves remain green after brewing, preserving their natural green color and high nutritional content. This tea is made from tea leaves harvested from the Camellia sinensis plant and is known for its fresh and slightly sweet flavor.
Green tea contains caffeine, but the amount is relatively low compared to coffee. The flavor of green tea varies depending on its origin and processing method. Generally, green tea has a fresh, clean taste with a slight grassy note and a touch of natural sweetness. The color of the brewed green tea ranges from pale yellow to bright green.
As for the content and benefits of drinking green tea, it is rich in antioxidants, especially catechins, which are polyphenolic compounds with various health benefits. Some health benefits commonly associated with consuming green tea include improving heart health, aiding in weight loss, reducing cancer risk, enhancing brain function, and maintaining skin health.

Black Tea
Description of Black Tea
Black tea is obtained through a fermentation process in which the fermentation does not involve microbes as the source of enzymes instead, it is carried out by the phenolase enzymes present in the tea leaves themselves. During this process, most of the catechins are oxidized into theaflavins and thearubigins. The green color of the tea changes to a brownish hue and, during the drying process, turns black.
Black tea is the most common and widely recognized type of tea in the world. It is made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant, just like green tea and oolong tea, but it undergoes full oxidation, which gives it its distinctive flavor and characteristics. In terms of flavor, black tea is known for its strong and robust taste, often with rich, malty characteristics and a slight sweetness. Some black teas also have notes of smokiness, chocolate, or spices.
The caffeine content in black tea is generally higher than in green or white tea, though still lower than in coffee. The caffeine in black tea provides a refreshing effect and helps to improve concentration. The benefits of drinking black tea include antioxidants such as theaflavins and thearubigins, which are beneficial for heart health, lowering cholesterol levels, and improving digestive health. Additionally, regular consumption of black tea can help reduce the risk of stroke and enhance mental health.

Japanese Tea
Description of Japanese Tea
Sencha tea is a type of green tea that originates from Japan and is one of the most popular green tea varieties in the country. This tea is known for its fresh, slightly sweet taste and sometimes has a distinctive umami flavor. Sencha has a bright green color with a fresh, grassy aroma. The taste of this tea varies depending on the brewing method, but generally, it offers a balance of sweetness, slight bitterness, and light umami. Tea brewed at a lower temperature tends to have a sweeter and milder flavor, while brewing at a higher temperature results in a stronger and slightly bitter taste.
Like most other green teas, Sencha is rich in antioxidants, especially catechins, which are recognized for their health benefits. Regular consumption of Sencha tea can help boost metabolism, support heart health, and provide anti-inflammatory properties. Additionally, the L-theanine content in this tea can help reduce stress and improve mental focus.
There are several types of Sencha, which vary depending on the harvest season and processing methods. For example, Sencha made from the first tea leaves harvested in the spring is known for its very mild and fresh flavor. Overall, Sencha tea is a popular choice for those seeking a tea with a balanced and healthful taste.

Oolong Tea
Description of Oolong Tea
Oolong tea is a semi-fermented tea processed using specific raw materials, particularly certain varieties like Camellia sinensis, as this variety imparts a unique aroma. The processing of oolong tea involves withering the tea leaves by sun-drying or air-drying, followed by sifting to allow the leaves to oxidize to the desired level. Once oxidation is complete, the tea is dried and then further processed to achieve its distinctive twisted leaf shape. The final step is an additional drying process. Oolong tea contains a higher level of antioxidants than black tea but lower than green tea because it has undergone partial oxidation. In terms of flavor, oolong tea offers a wide spectrum, ranging from light and floral notes. Some oolong teas have flavors of fruit, flowers, honey, or even cream. The caffeine content in oolong tea is moderate, higher than green tea but lower than black tea. This caffeine level helps boost energy and concentration without causing the jitters often associated with coffee.
The health benefits of oolong tea include antioxidants, weight management, heart health, skin health, and dental health. Oolong tea is one of the most versatile and fascinating teas in the world, valued for its complexity of flavors and aromas, as well as its abundant health benefits.

Tea is one of the most popular drinks in the world.
Tea is a drink made from the leaves of the Camellia Sinensis plant. From the shoots of the tea leaves, three types of tea leaves are obtained, namely green tea, black tea and oolong tea. Indonesia produced 129,000 tons of tea in 2020. Based on the processing process, there are 2 types of black tea, namely Orthodox and CTC (Crushing Tearing and Curling). The difference in the process between orthodox black tea and CTC black tea is mainly in the grinding process where the CTC process uses a CTC machine which is similar to a tobacco machine so that the CTC becomes quick brewing or fast brewing.
